A Yorkie-Poo puppy is a cross between a purebred Toy Poodle and a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. This cross creates a F-1 hybrid, first line cross. The goal in this F-1 cross is to get the best qualities from both breeds involved.
The appearance of these dogs can be any combination of the mix. They can come in a variety of colors, may have a curly, wavy, or straight coat that is silky, soft, and non-shedding. Their ears are set high and can come in all shapes from a drop ear to a prick ear. The legs are strong and muscular which allows them to jump quite high. Their paws are small and compact.
Yorkie Poos are a good choice for allergy sufferers as they are non-shedding, and tend to be hypoallergenic. They are indoor dogs but love to go outside to run and play.

 Temperament
A Yorkie-Poo's termperament and personality can be described using the following words: loyal, brave, self-confident, full of energy, smart and highly trainable, a great companion, good "alarm" and/or watchdog.
Height & Weight
There can be great variations in Yorkie-Poo sizes. They tend to range from 7 - 12 inches and weight anywhere from 4 - 15 pounds. They can live around 10 - 14 years.
Exercise
Yorkie-Poos love to go for walks and to run and play off of their leash. They are very active but adaptable to apartment life.
Grooming
Yorkie-Poos will require weekly at home grooming and occassionaly a visit to the groomer to be clipped. It is important to keep their coats matt free, the hair out of their ears and clipped away from the eyes to avoid irritation.
